Amphibian Artist & Biologist to Judge Newts

Froglife is very excited to announce artist and ecologist Brandon Ballangee as one of the judges for our Great Crafted Newt Competition. Brandon regularly combines art and science in fantastic and fascinating projects, and he will be casting his expert eye over all the two-dimensional newts entered in the competition.

'The Case of the Deviant Toad' is one of Brandon’s most famous art/science crossover projects. Featuring huge and colourful images from amphibian specimens, the resulting exhibition and book highlighted the occurrence of deformity in toads due to human impacts on their habitats. You can find out more about this project at The Arts Catalyst Website here or view Brandon's portfolio here

Froglife is collecting all sorts of goodies as prizes for the best newts, including some goodies donated from the lovely Cath Kidson company!
